Ellacor micro-coring  

Ellacor® is a first-of-its-kind technology for the treatment of wrinkles that removes micro-cores of excess skin in the mid and lower face, without surgery or the use of thermal energy. 

Ellacor for the face

The Ellacor System with Micro-Coring™ Technology is FDA cleared and indicated for use by medical professionals for the treatment of moderate and severe wrinkles in the mid to lower face in adults 22 years or older with Fitzpatrick skin types I-IV.

How Ellacor works

The Ellacor System uses hollow needles to remove excess skin on the microscale. After the skin is removed, the body's natural healing response goes into effect as the skin quickly realigns to close the cores.

Ellacor removes micro-portions of excess skin to achieve an improvement in the appearance of wrinkles without evidence of scarring, and promotes faster healing than many energy-based procedures that use heat generated by laser, radiofrequency and ultrasound energy to induce intentional thermal injury to the skin.

Ellacor is adminstered by Dr. Hamori, Dr. DiEdwardo and Carissa Confeiteiro, PA-C. Your medical provider will determine the appropriate anesthesia prior to the procedure to make you more comfortable. Most patients in the clinical trial reported pain during the procedure as less than 2 on a 0-to-10 scale.

You can expect on average 3 days of recovery time after an Ellacor treatment.

Ellacor for body contouring

Ellacor micro-coring can also be used "off-label" for selected body contouring applications. These include:

• loose skin above the belly button
• crepey skin on the arms
• crepeyness above the knees
• and more

Ellacore is effective in treating loose skin above the belly button. Dr. Hamori relates that "it's a really tough area to address in thin people. It's just a little bit of wrinkling, a little bit of skin hanging over, but certainly doesn't warrant a tummy tuck." Because micro-coring with Ellacore can remove up to 8% of skin, scarlessly, it can be a useful treatment for certain body contouring. In the same way it can tighten skin on the face, where it is FDA-approved, it can be used "off-label" on the body. Expect about three treatments to see dramatic results.
